Granton Information Centre (GIC), established in 1984, have a trained team of Welfare Rights Advisers who provide free and independent benefits and money/debt advice for anyone who resides within our catchment areas.
We also have trained Housing Advisers who can provide guidance and support to tenants who rent from private landlords/housing associations.
All of the advice given by GIC Advisers is strictly confidential and by appointment only.

Our voluntary management committee currently employ 13 management/administration and advice staff who are responsible for the day to day running of GIC.

We dealt with 9977 enquiries from 9090 clients
We dealt with 1771 housing cases
We represented 158 local people at tribunals
Through income maximisation we generated £3,319,334.22p money local people were entitled to but had not been claiming.
We dealt with £823,408.06p of NEW DEBT
We carried out twenty home visits
